Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Oversee the professional development and periodic evaluation of direct reports including the identification of employee development opportunities.

• Actively solicit suggestions and exploit the experience of employees to develop and implement product and process improvements.

• Work proactively with plant management across the organization to effectively utilize tool and die resources.

• Identify continuous improvement activities including company-wide Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime of production equipment. These include but are not limited to evaluating technology trends to help drive standardization to those trends within the plant and organization.

• Optimize workflow and workplace organization using lean tools and methodology.

• Oversee and perform the safe, efficient, and effective repair and maintenance operations of dies, jigs and fixtures including determining the extent and method of repair by means of careful inspection and accurate measurement.

• Monitor and adjust spare parts and supply inventory levels to support maintenance activity.

• Monitors spend to budget and actively participate in budgetary planning to manage costs.

• Set up and operate standard milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinder and other machine tools as needed. Aid in machine changeovers across T&D and CNC Room.

• Maintain equipment per OEM and Phoenix Stamping requirements.

• Create, save and maintain CNC programs using MasterCAM software from Auto-Cad or step files.

• Keep and maintain records in company IT databases: ERP system, work order management, program and drawing files.

• Maintain quality standards and tolerances and audit compliance with standard work instructions and process control plans.

• Assist in the design, development and manufacture of tools, fixtures, and other production needs for new and existing products.

• Assist in the development and implementation of visual factory tools and continually monitor their effectiveness.

• Perform other duties as required or assigned

• Champion continuous improvement efforts through knowledge and awareness, training, procurement, and process improvement.

• Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area using 6S guidelines and participates in audits as required

• Liaise with other functional groups and departments to support operational capabilities, changes, and improvements and to communicate timelines, deliverables and resource needs to complete projects on time.

• Ensure operational activities and management of equipment and materials are executed in a manner consistent with good stewardship

• Ensure activities meet and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care

• Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures

• Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards

• QEK Points (Quick and Easy Kaizen)

• Budget Control • 6S Audit Result

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience

• 3 years supervisory experience preferred

• Ability to perform standard shop computations (math) • Ability to read schematics (blue prints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals

• Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment

• Working knowledge of CNC programming and operation preferred.

• Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
