Job Description

Title:  Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to:  Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Purpose:  Ultimately responsible for the documentation and continuous improvement of all manufacturing equipment and support processes in support of the Company’s goals and objectives.

Location: Fort Worth, TX - Onsite Position

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Champion continuous improvement efforts through standardization and elimination of waste.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques in all manufacturing and support processes.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions in conjunction with Quality Control.
  • Evaluate process capabilities to ensure optimal quality and efficiency. Utilize root cause and corrective action techniques to implement and sustain corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain process-training systems for all operational personnel.
  • Participate in the product development process to assess process and equipment options and evaluate design for manufacturability.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and optimizing various CNC driven systems like robotic weld cells, press brakes, laser cutting systems, bolt making machines, benders, etc.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of visual factory tools.
  • Oversee the design and installation of new cells/processes and continuous evaluation of existing equipment.
  • Lead projects related to CAPEX, continuous improvement, etc. within scope and the budget to ensure on-time execution.
  • Support the quoting process including the development of manufacturing labor quotes.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of contemporary operational theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to all operational personnel as well as functional managers and executives.
  • Monitor overall energy consumption and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Communicate and liaise with other functional managers and executives so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs or operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of process challenges and process improvements and changes.
  • Ensure operational activities and management of equipment and materials are executed in a manner consistent with good stewardship.
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Autodesk Inventor or similar 3-D modeling experience
  • Minimum 3 years of related Engineering experience
  • MS Windows, Epicor or other ERP Software preferred
  • CNC/CAM programming skills preferred
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Self-directed/organized, strong work ethic, positive attitude, works well in teams, customer focused and accountable for actions
