Job Description

Job Purpose:  Ultimately responsible for planning and leading the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Actively supervise employees in the everyday coordination, execution and planning of maintenance efforts
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are scheduled properly to maintain the efficiency and quality of the machines
  • Ensure that all planned maintenance activities have standardized working methods and related work instructions
  • Ensure all planned activities are performed on time, correctly, and safely
  • Continuously evaluate the maintenance activities performance
  • Review, analyze, and optimize maintenance activities
  • Support corrective maintenance and ensure minimum downtime
  • Identify continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime of production equipment
  • Oversee the professional development and periodic evaluation of direct reports to include implementation of training programs
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machinery and facility equipment
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machinery
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints to perform required maintenance and service
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Perform other duties as required by production
  • Participate in Safety Committee and enforce all OSHA and internal safety standards
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or other technical field preferred
  • 7+ years verifiable experience in Industrial Maintenance
  • 5 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Specific experience maintaining stamping presses (Plant 01/03/04) or cold heading equipment (Plant 02) preferred
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  •  Well versed in standard preventative maintenance protocols
  • Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment and appropriate PPE
  • Proficient in metal cutting, welding, drilling and tapping
  • Expert knowledge of PLC and relay logic control systems
  • Expert knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic devices and controls
  • Expert knowledge of electrical distribution systems and LOTO procedures
  • Previous experience maintaining air compressors a plus
  • Previous experience programming automated equipment including robots a plus
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance and inventory control systems processes and ability to analyze data utilizing Excel, CMMS and ERP reports
  • Ability to perform active job duties that require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs
