Job Description

Phoenix American is looking for a sales professional with sound business insight and natural sales instincts to drive and help build our lead generation initiatives. You will lay the foundation of this sales effort through identifying qualified prospects and promoting the value of Phoenix American for their businesses. As a Business Development Representative, you will report to the Director of Marketing and work closely with our Sales leaders to find new prospects.

As the first line of contact, you understand the diverse needs of our prospects. You are quick on your feet and have the perseverance to overcome objections. You will become an expert on the products and services that enable our clients to succeed. You will use a data-driven approach to create an outbound sales program that incorporates prospecting, email communication, and calling – all in close coordination with Marketing and Sales.

Responsibilities:

  • Outbound prospect high value targets that are a good fit for Phoenix American
  • Use cold calling to qualify leads and set up meetings between prospects and our Sales leaders
  • Learn and maintain a firm understanding of our sales process
  • Qualify inbound leads from Marketing initiatives
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to help plan and manage various lead generation initiatives
  • Build our business through outreach emails 
  • Create a great first impression to our prospects by inspiring them to learn how Phoenix American can benefit their business
  • Attend industry conferences and client on-sites 
  • Gain sales exposure and experience by partnering with our Senior Sales and Marketing team members
  • Meet defined performance metrics

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • A desire to grow your career in sales
  • Ability to call, follow up inbound leads and outbound prospecting
  • Solid Salesforce experience
  • A BA/BS degree or higher
  • 3+ years in a qualifying or prospecting role
  • Intellect, passion, curiosity, hunger, and perseverance
  • Critical thinking and strong decision-making abilities
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills 
  • Travel will be expected (5-10%)
  • Work out of our San Rafael office
