Job Description

We’re looking for a results-driven Sales Representative to actively seek out and engage Venture Capital and Private Equity funds in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. The Sales Representative will be directly responsible for identifying new sales leads, qualify prospects and drive new business opportunities.  They will deliver a clear and consistent product value proposition message to develop customer interest with decision makers at a wide range of investment companies.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following (other duties may be assigned).

 

  • Strategize with top management to develop and expand Fund Accounting services
  • Generate calling lists for prospective clients, make initial contact with prospects, gauge level of interest and schedule product demos
  • Drive the sales pipeline volume by cold calling 20-30 prospects a day;  Perform sales follow-up to advance prospects in the sales cycle
  • Identify new leads using the internet or other information sources;
  • Perform company research to identify potential opportunities and identify the appropriate contacts within companies to grow prospect list;
  • Collaborate with Marketing Director to disseminate product value and marketing information through direct mail and e-mail campaigns
  • Qualify prospective customers and identify cross-sell or up sell opportunities;

Create and deliver weekly status reports to Director of Business Development;

Qualifications

  • Proven ability with selling Fund Accounting services with a strong focus in Venture Capital and Private Equity
  • Experience with qualifying and selling financial services and/or software products to companies over the telephone a plus;
  • Experience with running direct mail and e-mail campaigns helpful;
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of the Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Alternative Investment Fund Industry
  • Experience with Fund Structures and Strategies for Alternative Investments Funds (Master/Feeder, Limited Partnerships, Co-Investment Funds)
  • Should be familiar with operational metrics related to Venture Capital and Private Equity (Rate of Return (IRR), Return Multiples, TVPI, DPI, and related)
  • Knowledge of standard framework of Venture Capital and Private Equity portfolio reporting and normal cycle of communication to limited partners and fund sponsors
  • Experience with the vendor selection process and Due Diligence requirements of VC Firms
  • Must be comfortable interacting with C-level prospects and entrepreneurs
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Sales training and methodology experience helpful
