Job Description

 

The  Scientist - Quality Control will be responsible for analyzing  both in-process and/or finished cannabis products  for the medical / adult use market. The incumbent will use various analytical techniques to ensure all finished products maintain their attributes of identity, strength, quality, and purity.

 

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

 

●       Performs in-process and finished product quality control testing in support of production under management supervision.

●       Analyzes samples to confirm product compounding and state specifications for potency. 

●       Performs duties in a safe manner while adhering to OSHA regulations, PharmaCann SOP’s / Analytical Test Methods and all state regulations.

●       Uses various platforms to accurately track product movement to ensure product security and disposal procedures.

●       Under the supervision of the Manager, regularly uses analytical instrumentation and its software (HPLC, UPLC, GC-HS not inclusive).

●       Monitors the day-to-day operations of analytical instrumentation and its impact on results, chromatograms and potency.  

●       Responsible for ensuring analytical results are communicated per proper department protocols.

●       Performs balance checks, instrument calibrations and restocks consumables in the laboratory. 

●       Uses analytical techniques to prepare samples for analysis.

●       Performs mobile phases and sample preparations for analysis.

●       Accurately documents all testing results. 

●       Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.

●       Embodies the culture, values, and tenets of PharmaCann and full support of our purpose, goal, and key objectives.

Qualifications

●       Education: BS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science required.

●       Experience: One to two years of laboratory experience preferred. 

●       Age: State law requires that applicants be 21 years old and over.

●       Strong attention to detail.

●       Works well in a team environment.

 

Working conditions

 

Will work in a laboratory environment, within a manufacturing facility.  

 

Physical requirements

 

Repetitive sample preparations.

Standing, bending, and  lifting up to 50 pound.

Must be able to use a computer and equipment for long periods of time.
