Job Description

In this important role, you will direct, support, and train all store and cultivation management in the design, development, administration, monitoring and implementation of activities related to the protection of company assets. Report incidents where there are risks for loss, violations of company policies or procedures and operational concerns or issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, participate in and monitor the development, implementation and maintenance of the asset protection programs pertaining to external theft, internal theft and unintentional loss in assigned areas.
  • Raise awareness among field management, store and cultivation associates through business unit visits that include, but are not limited to, external and internal theft investigations, asset protection audits, data integrity, awareness training and physical security.
  • Participate in or conduct store, cultivation, district and regional training meetings and conference calls that cover asset protection issues.
  • Responsible for communications with stores, cultivation, Human Resources, Directors and District Managers on asset protection issues.
  • Respond to critical incidents and emergencies in an effective and professional manner.
  • Assist the operations teams to establish and monitor shrink goals for retail and for cultivation locations
  • Administer and conduct asset protection audits to create awareness, detect areas of vulnerability and/or violations of policies
  • Conduct investigations of cash losses, product losses, robberies, burglaries, etc.
  • Monitor, analyze, and follow-up on statistical data related to POS discrepancies/losses
  • Maintain knowledge of Asset Protection trends, laws and governmental compliance
  • Maintains professional liaison with all local law enforcement officials to ensure appropriate coordination of investigations and/or prosecutions
  • Assist in coordination of physical security programs (alarms, CCTV, safes)
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting to corporate asset protection for company loss incidents.
  • The position will provide a multistate oversite to IL, OH, PA, NY, MD, MA

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of conducting legal and ethical investigations
  • Strong Inventory control or auditing background
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
  • Proficient knowledge of exception-based reporting programs, computer applications; Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • College degree or commensurate experience required.
  • Wicklander/Zulawski certification is required.
  • 5-7 years of multi store retail asset protection management experience is preferred.
  • Person with ability to perform weekly travel (3 days per week) in an assigned area.
  • This candidate will have outstanding customer service skills and the ability to manage workloads and complete objectives with little or no supervision.
  • The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, capable of handling multiple tasks and possess excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass multi state background checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Management or Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • LP Qualified (LPQ) or LP Certified (LPC) certifications
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and its security regulations highly preferred but not required
