Job Description
The Marketing Content Manager is responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content strategy to achieve our business goals. Your duties will also include sharing content to raise brand awareness, provide thought leadership, customer acquisition, retention and growth.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional with demonstrable creative writing skills. As a Marketing Content Manager, you should perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented and an expert in content optimization and brand consistency.
The Content Manager will provide forward-thinking creative leadership; review and provide feedback on marketing pieces including blogs, emails, landing pages, product content, ads and more; ensure brand voice and tone are infused into all written content
Ultimately, you should be able to oversee all marketing content initiatives to ensure customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic content marketing plans, delivery strategies and content (editorial) calendars.
Listen to industry trends, customer needs, content metrics, and online conversation to map out, evolve and optimize editorial content strategy and plans against key topics and emerging stories .
Work with cross-functional teams to develop ideas from scratch, support and write original content – direct marketing, blog posts, case studies, articles, infographics, videos and more – that can be utilized across multiple marketing channels.
Curate content and work with a network of content contributors and executives across the organization to produce thought leadership.
Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Drive ideas for brand campaigns.
Develop compelling angles and stories for marketing materials.
Demonstrate courage, ability, and agility to understand and address organizational transition in real-time; establish expectations for the unexpected.
Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities; delivering on strategy through quality execution and best practice adaptation.
Qualifications
8+ years’ B2C/retail/digital marketing experience, including specific experience with content and/or brand marketing, required
Bachelor’s Degree In Marketing, Journalism or similar field
Outstanding writing, editing and verbal communication skills with great attention to detail
Proven track record of concepting and implementing marketing and brand campaigns that drive customer growth and brand awareness
Proven experience creating content for print, in-store, websites and other digital channels
Experience translating strategic concepts into written and visual content
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, complex, highly regulated and evolving industry
A doer that can take concepts ideas to execution
Experience working with data analysts to find trends and solve problems
Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
Highly effective organizational, collaborative and consultative skills
Strong problem-solving ability, organizational and time-management
