Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will act as Project Manager, provide mechanical and process engineering, and coordinate with regulatory, civil, electrical, & instrumentation disciplines.  Typical projects will include expansions of the pipeline network (oil, gas, and water), bottlenecking, troubleshooting problems with existing facilities, and maintenance projects. Initially the projects will include:

  • Expansion and optimization of produced water gathering system as new wells are drilled.
  • Evaluation of options for new SWD wells.
  • Design of new SWD facilities.
  • Working with the maintenance group to develop a flowline maintenance program.
  • Implementation of utilizing modularized equipment for facility construction.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed engineering and design pipeline systems for the transportation of oil, gas, and water.
  • Optimization of pipelines and facilities.
  • Project Management of large full field retrofit projects as well as small projects.
  • Management of engineering contractor and performance of deign reviews where applicable.
  • Work with Operations Support Engineer and New Build Planning Engineer to resolve project specific queries.
  • Mediation of PHAs such as HAZIDs and HAZOPs.
  • Initiate MOC for identified projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations Support Engineer to evaluate modifications to future sites and design procedures.
  • Trialing (testing and assessment) of different pieces of equipment on location.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 – 6 years relevant industry experience, with demonstrated experience in all facility components of an upstream oil/gas operation. Onshore, shale resource experience preferred
  • Proficient operational knowledge of oil & gas facilities such as pressure vessels, tanks, piping, PSVs, rotating equipment, flares, etc.
  • Experience in saltwater disposal and gathering systems strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of other technical disciplines including reservoir, drilling & completions, production, and planning/financial preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in HYSYS, SAP, and Microsoft Project preferred.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical, but Petroleum, Electrical, and Civil will be considered.
  • Utilization of project management processes for a wide variety of projects.
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of estimation, cost control, and scheduling and construction planning tools.
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility for successful completion of the projects.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to keep project stakeholders informed.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Clean driving record and able to pass a drug test and background check.
