Must Haves:

  • Will be able to work 100% remotely. 
  • Ideal candidate will need to have strong interface development experience in IRIS & Epic Bridges, it would really be a huge plus if they were Epic Bridges Certified, IRIS Health Share Developer Certified and/or HL7 Certified.  Also needs to have FHIR experience (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) as well ON THE RESUME.  This is a standard set of rules and specifications for the secure exchange of electronic health care data. 
  • Needs to have extensive knowledge of clinical data and mapping techniques, along with advanced knowledge of SQL

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Integration Developer – Integration and Interoperability Services within the IT PMO (Program Management Office) & Governance Team calls for someone with exceptional written and verbal communication skills who will apply principles, techniques, and best practices in planning, organizing, and high-profile and complex programs. This individual must possess sound judgment, high professionalism, and ready diplomacy as he/she will partner with other EITS units and New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) departments to deliver projects promptly and efficiently. As a senior member of the Interface Team, the candidate is responsible for mentoring, designing, building, maintaining and supporting a variety of Interoperability interfaces including, but not limited to HL7, XML,, VPN, FTP, X12, and FHIR (Epic and Ensemble). The candidate will also have in-depth knowledge of the administration of integration engines, including Intersystem Ensemble and Epic Bridges. Duties will include; Workflow analysis, Requirements gathering, Interface assessments, Specification design, Build to Specification design, Testing, Documentation and On-Call support. Daily interaction with technical staff in clinical areas managed by Epic build team, LIS, Ambulatory, etc. is ongoing and an essential part of the job.

 

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop interfaces according to the project scope, scalability, portability, and best development practices, given constraints such as limited resources, time deadlines, and technological impediments
  • Work with Project Management and Business Analysis Teams to translate interface requirements into a well-defined project scope
  • Work with FHIR and HL7 custom interface from homegrown application.
    should have developed an FHIR integration while working with Epic.
  • Test, deploy, and validate the interfaces to achieve project sign-off from internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop/execute/document the functional test scripts to test the artifacts based on Interface technical specifications and works with the QA team to roll them out to Production.
  • Document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of primary conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications
  • Ensures all change management steps are followed and maintained when deploying any interface project
  • Performs on-call duties as required
  • Support any upgrades/projects go-live and post-go-live deployment
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for assigned projects

 

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses:

  • Preferred Epic Bridges Certification
  • Preferred Iris Health Share Developer Certification
  • Preferred HL7 Certification

 

Educational Level:

  • A Baccalaureate Degree or higher (heavily preferred), from an accredited college or university preferably with a degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Information Systems, Health Administration, Or
  • Extensive Integration and Interoperability experience

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements:

  • Experience working with the Health Systems Integration Engines like IRIS Interface Engine or Epic Bridges or similar
  • Experience working with major healthcare 3rd party systems such as Laboratory, Radiology, Cardiology, Pharmacy Expert knowledge of clinical data and mapping techniques
  • Advance knowledge of SQL
  • Lead role in Epic implementation across multiple facilities
  • Developed interface architecture for an implementation project
  • Experience working in an Agile work environment
  • Knowledge in Web Services Technology
  • Knowledge in MS Windows/ MS Office Tools
  • Well-versed in EDI formats such as but not limited to HL7, ASC X12, FHIR, XML

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10+ years of Interface development experience required in (RIS (Ensemble) and Bridges
  • 6+ years of bridges experience as an interface analyst
