JOB TITLE: Business Development Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Chief Growth Officer

 

Position Summary

The Business Development team at Pereira O’Dell leads all in-bound and out-bound new business growth nationally. As a true representative of the Pereira O’Dell brand, they are often the first point of contact of the agency in speaking with prospective clients and represent the energy, capabilities and best-in-class work found at Pereira O’Dell.

The Business Development Supervisor is the “organized calm at the center of the storm”. They balance a hunger for strategic thinking & growth with excellent attention-to-detail. This role supports the Chief Growth Officer in bringing to life a pitch from beginning to end, including research, in-bound/out-bound communications, outreach strategies and overall pitch process management.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic project management - Manage the pitch process from kick-off meeting to final submissions, including:
    • Coordination of the team and the process. Assign and delegate work with clear accountabilities and deadlines and monitor progress.
    • Assessing initial opportunities and establishing each pitch’s core team in consultation with the CGO.
    • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to craft best-in-class pitch materials, including RFIs, RFPs and final presentations that are compelling, creative, professional and on-voice for our agency. 
    • Interfacing with prospective clients and/or pitch consultants.
    • Conduct post-pitch assessments that include detailed client feedback to ensure constant improvement in our process and output.
  • Historian & detail-keeper - Proactively manage agency information, ie: keep answer banks up to date, gather information for case studies from individual Brand teams, update consultant databases if needed.
  • Research & analysis - Research client’s background and business situation; convert insights into opportunity summaries for kick-offs to ensure the team is grounded in most relevant work that may not be reflected in the pitch documents alone.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - as representative of the agency, maintain high-quality communications with prospective clients and/or consultants.
  • Serviceplan Americas support - Coordinate with Serviceplan Group Business Development Manager on global pitches, as needed.
  • Partner closely with PR & Communication Director - Keeping a strong and consistent brand presence across all owned properties.
  • Cultural contributor - Contribute to a positive agency environment, including creating space for and championing a diverse, inclusive and equitable agency experience, ensuring a breadth and depth of voices are considered in all stages of the process.

 

    Qualifications

    • 3 - 5 years experience in an agency environment, ideally in business development, account services or project management
    • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and workstreams, establishing priorities and keeping team on task
    • Strong writing skills that blends business acumen and creative storytelling
    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-pressure situations. Can comfortably lead pitch teams and internal meetings with senior and executive team members
    • Ability to read briefs and RFPs for a comprehensive understanding of client business goals and strategic imperatives and ability to help translate for the pitch team to develop strategic deliverables including written and creative assignments
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including making sure all of the pitch requirements are met in the agency’s materials
    • Keen interest in the marketing and advertising industry and staying up on industry best practices and campaigns
    • Proficient in Google Slides, Keynote and Powerpoint, and coordinating in-person and remote (Zoom, Teams) meetings

    Additional Information

    The annual salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. The salary an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on factors such as but not limited to: internal compensation of current employees in similar roles, market considerations, budgetary considerations, level of responsibility, background, experience, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus structure.
