Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This role will require the candidate to create production & post production schedules, budgets, work directly with production artists teams to assign tasks and ensure deadlines are met and speed and scale. Line producing creative projects and managing aspects of the job from pre-production through post and finishing. This role also requires excellent project management skills, strategic thinking, relationship building, resource management, problem solving, and strong communication skills.   • Manage multi-track projects simultaneously and investigate and understand project priorities in the context of agency and client expectations.

  • Oversee and supervise production teams / crews during prep, pre-production, shoot and through post production.

  • Responsible for overall satisfaction, quality of service, and on-time, on-budget completion of deliverables across a large portfolio of accounts.

  • Oversee the creation of project scopes, budgets, and SOWs for large programs of work, and review and approve the same for your team.

  • Consistently understanding the current state of all projects and what needs to happen next.

  • Think outside of the box regularly to find effective solutions to bring the work to life

  • Understand overages and changes to shoot details, and explain that to all parties.

  • Be able to manage all back-end work such as cost tracking and management of invoices and POs. 

  • Handle production-related conversations and issues for clients with ease and professionalism. 

  • Manage and cultivate creative partner and vendor relationships, as a representative of BarrelHouse’s vision and values. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A master-multitasker and clear communicator

  • 6+ years of advertising agency, post house, or in-house brand studio experience with strong knowledge of post-production processes for offline and online editing.

  • Well rounded experience including broadcast, film and digital.

  • Self-starter, confident, positive, focused, dependable, resourceful, creative, and possesses a “can do” attitude

  • Experience delivering multiple assets and commercial packages.

  • Excellent negotiation skills (especially contract negotiations) with both clients and vendors

  • Resourceful, especially when it comes to choosing production partners (i.e. Production shops, Directors, Crew Personnel, Editorial, Visual Effects, Post Audio and Casting Facilities)

  • Acts as the ‘right hand’ to the Head of Production in managing all editorial and motion and internal production needs for BarrelHouse.

  • Maintains post production calendar and schedules all post projects for the agency

  • Is point person for all post workflow coming into the studio across departments

  • Sources all freelance editors, shooter, motion graphics resources; and coordinates with HR and finance to facilitate set-ups

  • Manages all communication amongst post production resources, including studio artists, retouchers, motion designers, editors, photographers, videographers, CG artists, etc.

  • Communicates with clients, vendors, and internal account teams to define spec information for production teams

  • Bids, schedules, actualizes, and closes post production projects

  • Maintains database of preferred partners, establishing relationships with key reps and production companies, and coordinates screenings

  • Handles shoot production logistics for in-house shoots, and other related production needs

  • Works with Head of Production in accounting of time/billing for post/shoot/equipment rentals

  • Administration of all client and agency asset management systems, setting and maintaining process and folder structures for all projects.

  • Experience with navigating editing/animation software a plus (Adobe Premiere & After Effects)

  • Experience with managing assets and file management. Strong understanding of different file types.
