Job Description

Position Summary

Communications Strategist are responsible for representing the comms strategy discipline across all P.O.D clients. This position represents the department, developing go to market strategies across campaigns as well as bringing in unique platform thinking that pushes ideas forward.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Client Communication: Lead client relationships, Working with partners to develop plans and ensure that deadlines are being met.  

  • Content Management: Keep track of all the messages that may be relevant in certain timeframes to appropriately inform creative rotations and recommendations

  • Concise Writing Skills: Ability to write clear, actionable briefs and communications that accurately reflect the needs of any given project. 

  • Content Strategies: Bring ideas to life through executions on different channels (i.e. TV, OTT, social, display, owned, etc) in collaboration with other strategists. 

  • Internal Education: Properly guide creative teams in what messaging needs to be prioritized on each channel based on best practices and success metrics

  • Consumer Understanding: Outline user journeys that dictates how, when, and where we need to connect with audiences in order to meet our desired business objectives

  • Thought Leadership: and proactive research that can inform clients’ needs and industry at large

  • Content Strategies: Inform content strategies for owned channels such as landing pages, email, internal communications. 


Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Travel: Minimal travel/willingness to attend occasional client meetings in-person preferred but not required. 

  • Desk Research: willingness to stay up to date with trends and platform evolutions that are relevant to our role and bring that information to the larger team

  • Budgeting and flighting: working understanding of how media is run and how to best distribute creative across channels while working with creative teams and platform partners to create spec sheets.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 4-7 years of direct brand or agency experience in digital planning or communications planning, deep knowledge of different platforms across the marketing space.

  • Client Leadership: Experience working independently with clients and coordinating deliverables with both internal and external teams required

  • Social media expertise, in paid and organic channels highly preferred

  • Audience definition and analysis experience: GWI, Simmons experience is a plus.

  • Successful track record of campaign experience with hard launch dates across multiple channels in the ecosystem
