Job Description

What you will do:

Focus on customer inquiries and support by responding and proactively communicating with our customers.  Work with the Support & Operations team to streamline process’ and equipment. Manage our Linux administration and remote Systems to ensure a greater customer experience.

  • Manage user accounts globally

  • Evaluate, analyze, and troubleshoot all server-related issues

  • Fulfill support and change requests

  • Coordinate deployments and Perch's unit installations

  • Plan and recommend hardware replacements as needed

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • 4+ years of client service/support.  Startup experience preferred

  • Strong experience in Linux administration and best practices, with a general understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes, etc.) Demonstrated experience configuring Linux firewall/routing/networking

  • Fluent in programming/scripting skills for automation in at least two of:  Bash, Ruby, Python or Perl

  • General understanding of TCP/IP and related protocols (HTTP, FTP, NFS, etc.)

  • Comfortable dealing with users with varying levels of IT knowledge

  • Experience with automated configuration management (Puppet is preferred)

  • Experience with version control. (Git is preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience working on remote Systems via use of command line

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies preferred

  • Experience or familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Salesforce

  • Strong communication skills written and verbal, are a must

  • Great team player with the ability to problem solve and work on your own initiative

  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast-paced environment
