Job Description

Assist K-5 teachers with instruction, supervision of students, and preparation for class. 

Job duties include:

  • Assisting with remediation instruction
  • Preparation of materials
  • Supervision of students in classroom and at recess when necessary
  • Guiding students in activities
  • Performing related tasks as assigned

Desirable Specialties:

  • Experience in schools subject to parental choice
  • Experience with project-based learning
  • Experience in special education

Salary: $16/hr

Hours: Either full or half day

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge in math and reading demonstrated by at least one of the following:
    • one or more years of documented experience as an instructional aide
    • two years or more of college education
    • one or more years of relevant career experience within the last three years
  • Good teamwork, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching and learning styles.
  • Experience working with youth
