Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.

Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Maverick is a Triple-A game developed in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase – Red; as well as two projects in VR technology – Green Hell VR and Bulletstorm VR - an exciting VR version of our cult-classic shooter.

Job Description

People Can Fly is looking for a Release Manager to own the scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the PCF self-publishing portfolio. As a Release Manager you will be part of the Publishing team. You will be working with first party partners (Valve, Microsoft, Sony, etc) and internal stakeholders to deliver content to first party platforms (Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, etc). This includes full game releases, updates and additional content offers on all available stores. You will be coordinating communication and key dates between the development and publishing departments in order to achieve certification from our partners. You will be responsible for leading the creation, education, and adoption of new tools, systems, and best practices required for the setup and submission to 1st Party platforms and to alternative regional digital distribution channels. You will also be asked to research into new markets and platforms that the company shows an interest in, to ensure we understand submission processes, costs and risks. As a Release Manager you will also be responsible for the test game version releases on our internal and external test servers and through internal distribution tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products comply with requirements for game releases and updates
  • Drive collaboration and communication across teams leading to compliance and release
  • Promote and uphold our ability to validate compliance and compatibility requirements during development
  • Provide a central service of Game and content readiness state, risks, and mitigations
  • Deliver a deep and understood purpose for each build delivered
  • Age Ratings: Management of age rating certification
  • Manage day-to-day development issues and drive identification of potential release impact
  • Work with leads to update and maintain release information and schedules
  • Deliver builds across teams and configure game products in store pages and products
  • Identify and track the latest platform changes and ensure relevant teams are informed e.g. loot box compliance changes
  • Implement scalable processes to accommodate variable release size and complexity
  • Maintain release documentation and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Maintain awareness of all team projects and major initiatives/goals
  • Contribute to improvements with our release procedures, to make them more repeatable, consistent, and less error prone

Qualifications

  • Experience with Live service operations and titles. Experience supporting games in the past that operate a live service model of build and content updates.
  • Experience shipping multiple games and updates simultaneously.
  • 3+ years of experience shipping games on multiple platforms in a Senior QA, Release Manager, or Producer position.
  • Proven ability to conduct releases with cross-functional stakeholders in organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of game publishing schemes on different platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, PC). Knowledgeable with 1st party submission procedures and tools
  • Ability to manage ambiguity. You use your instincts, experiences, and team to identify, assess, and solve problems quickly and frequently.
  • Project Management and Organization Skills. Release management is a detail-oriented job.
  • Your communications are clear, concise, and specific. You understand, track, and ensure that release data is 100% accurate.
  • Passion for Games. Both playing and an understanding of what makes them great.
