Founded in 2012, Incuvo is a studio of over 80 individuals working from Poland, Katowice. We have established our position worldwide in the VR games area, developing such titles like Layers of Fear VR, Blair Witch VR and Green Hell VR. With over 10 years of experience in making games and being engaged in the VR technology since 2019, Incuvo is aiming to expand the genre even further and become one of the key developers of the growing VR market worldwide. We want to combine our expertise with the creativity and skills of ambitious professionals to work on the new generation of VR titles. Our team is currently working on Bulletstorm VR - an exciting VR version of the game from People Can Fly studio’s portfolio and on further expansion of Green Hell VR.
The majority stakeholder of the studio is PCF Group S.A. (People Can Fly), a global independent AAA games developer and a Warsaw Stock Exchange public company. Founded in 2002, People Can Fly made its mark on the action-shooter genre, developing titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and its most recent game, Outriders. PCF is one of the leading Unreal Engine studios in the industry and operates in Poland, UK, US and Canada.
Job Description
- Creating, pitching, and prototyping gameplay ideas for core combat and moment-to-moment mechanics and systems, combat characters, their feel, behavior, abilities, and encounters in various settings
- Ensuring the core gameplay is engaging, fun, and challenging and delivers the design intention at agreed milestones
- Working in engine, tweaking, scripting, and tuning your features, and helping in defining what tools you need to do so
- Designing new game mechanics, creating game visions, concepts, and processes
- Maintaining global gameplay balance
- Creating designs, content drafts, system outlines, and game design process documentation to share all the necessary information with involved teams
- Working on the game design documentation, writing proposals and final docs for all aspects of the game's design
- Working with other game dev departments, such as gameplay programmers, art department, and other
- Remaining current on industry and product design trends to enhance the player’s experience and enjoyment
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Gameplay Designer (at least 2 years) or in the similar position
- Good knowledge of Unity
- Ability to conceptualize, pitch, and implement game systems and features using various tools, technology, and visual language
- Ability to communicate well across different departments (programmers, art, QA)
- Ability to quickly prototype and evaluate new gameplay mechanics
- Excellent verbal and written skills in both Polish and English
- Experience in creating clear design documentation
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proven creative approach to generate innovative ideas, mechanics, and content
- Understanding of major elements of game design
- Self-motivated worker with a both single- and team-focused attitude
- Ability to both give and take feedback and criticisms
