People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, US, and Canada, and from all over the world thanks to our remote work programs.

Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.

Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase – Red; as well as two projects in VR technology – Green Hell VR and Thunder - a new project based on one of the IPs from the Group’s portfolio.

Job Description

Role: Studio Head

Location: Remote

Our executives have a shared belief that leadership comes from serving and improving the work experiences of our aviators.

You are an experienced professional in leading projects and teams in the video game industry.  You are a passionate manager that is driven by providing constant support to your team and colleagues. Your natural communication skills bring visibility and acumen to your peers.  With video game production background, you can weigh teams’ decisions to ensure the success of game development. Making the right decisions is not always the easy ones and you use your leadership to deliver comprehensive messaging. You demonstrate a constant curiosity to improve the overall experience of the studio.

What You’ll Do:

Contribute to the studio success

  • Develop the studio roadmap and supporting execution plan in partnership with the company's leadership.
  • Oversee development process improvement for the studio
  • Drive exploration of new avenues of operations
  • Act as the point person of accountability and ownership for all studio needs
  • Contribute in the talent retention and acquisition

Build and shape inspiring company culture

  • Deliver a variety of meaningful communication/content across studios to keep our aviators inspired and up to date
  • Recruit, develop, coach and serve key talents to create best in class teams and expand the talent base
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, responsibility, and innovation across the studio
  • Increase cooperation and alignment between our development teams and our back office teams to consistently improve aviators’ experience and satisfaction
  • Maintain a healthy balance between projects needs and aviators experience working at PCF by raising flags if imbalance between people-product-process occurs

Contribute to the product success

  • Support and communicate leadsership’s goals clearly, and ensure everyone understands the scope and required quality of the project, along with the expectations of them as a team member
  • Act as the project relationship manager with all internal studio parties and publisher
  • Be an internal advocate for the product

 

Develop relationships with key and strategic partners

  • Represent PCF in front of a local community and being one of PCF’s global ambassadors
  • Maintain key and strategic partners’ relationships
  • Develop new potential strategic partners relationships, including universities, investors and local government agencies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in driving & leading best-in-class team growth
  • Network of contacts and business relationships within game development industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership and/or board to lead operational initiatives
  • Extensive understanding of the game industry, production processes and development
