People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, Ireland, US and Canada and from all over the world thanks to our remote work programs.

Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.

Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Maverick is a Triple-A game developed in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase – Red; as well as two projects in VR technology – Green Hell VR and Bulletstorm VR - an exciting VR version of our cult-classic shooter.

PCF Framework is a home of coding experts who ensure that the key areas of the Unreal Engine used by PCF are being properly developed across different games and platforms. The team also makes sure that we have less systems to maintain while remaining competitive and is responsible for driving our architecture and R&D initiatives forward.

Job Description

 

  • Providing mentorship, direction and best in class engineering principles to ensure quality results and efficient working practices
  • Mentoring, managing and leading the Graphics team
  • Conducting regular code reviews and managing the coding team to excellence
  • Providing day-to-day feedback and creatively solve problems
  • Designing, developing and maintaining both high level and low level graphics-related systems
  • Working with production team to plan development and provide tasks assignment to programmers team schedule
  • Maintaining and extending the existing PCF Framework (PCFF) and tools in cooperation with other internal studios or programmers
  • Analyzing the requirements of the art teams and define the required functionalities and graphics systems that must be developed to support them
  • Testing existing rendering features and propose new systems and feature implementations
  • Staying up to date with graphics features from other engines and provide expertise about possible implementations
  • Conducting consistent performance reviews of staff members
  • Conducting recruitment projects with HR collaboration

Qualifications

  • Extensive graphics engineering experience 
  • At least 2 shipped AAA projects with credits as a graphics programmer
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills
  • Excellent C++ knowledge
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Excellent math skills with an emphasis on 3D math
  • Passion for writing solid, reliable, efficient code and highly scalable systems
  • Good knowledge of the PS4/PS5, Xbox One/Series X/S, DX11/12 rendering architectures and APIs
  • Solid background in rendering with experience in shaders, geometry processing and lighting
  • Experience with CPU/GPU optimizations
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian software (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Proficiency with Swarm and Perforce
  • Work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Open-minded team player attitude
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated
  • Passionate about playing and making video games
