Job Description

We are looking for an Finance Manager / Accountant to join our team. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our office, reconciling the company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers, managing day-to-day payroll functions, assisting in keeping good and accurate income and expenditure accounts, and generating the company's financial reports using income and expenditure data while ensuring records are accurate and taxes are paid. 

Our ideal candidate should be able to create detailed financial reports, have experience with maintaining inventory accounting systems, managing accounting software and certain payroll functions. 

You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to work with a small and dynamic team. Experience within the spirits production industry is preferred, but not required. 

Accounting/Finance Manager Responsibilities

  • Record journal entry transactions in Quickbooks or similar accounting software system, assisting in month-end and year-end closings
  • Keep an accurate record of inventory tracking procedures using an inventory management system
  • Perform payroll functions including keeping accurate payroll records, paying payroll taxes in a timely manner, ensuring wages and benefits are paid
  • Assist CFO in completion of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages including internal management books in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate internal accounting controls and procedures on a monthly basis
  • Assist with the preparation of tax and audit work papers 
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
  • Assist CFO in preparation of budgeting reports (for the company and for each department)

Qualifications

  • 4 - 8 years experience as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Quickbooks and inventory management software ERP systems and best practices
  • Experience with payroll software like Gusto, Paycor or ADP
  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • Degree in Accounting, or relevant study
  • CPA certification preferred
