Job Description
Focus on leveraging existing APIs from third-party partners to streamline operations, automate manual processes, and improve organization efficiency. The developer will design, implement, and maintain integrations and workflow automations, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
A key part of the role includes supporting the organization by investigating and recommending artificial intelligence (AI) technologies that enable staff to be able to integrate AI tools effectively into their roles, while effectively protecting sensitive information.
The position will also provide backup support for business report development, assisting with the creating and maintenance of reports in SSRS and Power BI when needed.
Differentiating Accountabilities:
- Analyze available APIs from third-party vendors and determine how to best integrate them into internal systems.
- Build, test, and maintain integrations using REST, webhooks, and partner SDKs.
- Develop and document workflow automations that reduce manual effort and improve process consistency.
- Ensure integration reliability by creating monitoring, logging and error handling mechanisms.
- Document integration logic, dataflows and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with business teams to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions.
- Occasionally develop lightweight internal APIs or middleware to support integration workflows.
- Follow change management procedures for the implementation or adjustments of any workflows into production.
- Evaluate AI tools and platforms for safe, compliant use within the organization.
- Develop AI assisted workflows that enhance staff productivity without exposing sensitive data.
- Implement guardrails and access controls that align with security and privacy requirements.
- Provide guidance and best practices for staff using AI tools in day-to-day work.
- Provide input into internal AI governance policies.
- Provide back-up support for report development functions.
- Assist in creating, modifying, and maintaining business reports in SSRS and Power BI.
- Help troubleshoot report issues, validate data accuracy, and ensure reports meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with data owners to understand reporting needs.
- Perform integration testing, including functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Validate data accuracy, error handling, and workflow reliability.
- Coordinate with external partners when needed.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and third-party integration frameworks.
- Proficient in scripting or backend languages such as Powershell, Python, JavaScript or C#.
- Ability to work with JSON for API payloads, transformations, and automation logic.
- Hands-on experience with automation platforms (Power Automate) or custom automation scripts.
- Understanding of authentication standards (OAuth, API Keys, JWT).
- Familiar with AI platforms including Microsoft CoPilot.
- Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with both on premise and cloud environments.
- Basic SQL, SSRS or Power BI knowledge, or willingness to learn quickly.
- Effectively manage priorities and have the ability to work under pressure and defined deadlines and work in work independently without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills; able to translate technical content into well-understood messaging for the business.
- Strong analytical skills to break down problems into their component parts to understand where APIs are the solution.
Additional Information
Target Salary: $65,000
Salary Range: $61,233 - $76,541
Salary will be determined based on skills, experience, education and other qualifications relevant to this position.
