Your work at a glance…

As a Financial Advisor at PenFinancial Credit Union, you will work with members to identify their needs and customize a financial plan to support them. You will add value for members by providing them with customized financial advice and access to a full range of lending and investment products to support their financial goals. Building relationships is something you enjoy and you’re happy to use your business development skills to help bring new business to PenFinancial. As a brand ambassador, you’ll proudly represent PenFinancial in the community by participating in various community and business events. You understand that the finance industry is constantly evolving which is why you are committed to continuing education to enable you to provide the best advice for members.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Duties may vary by branch location and size.

Exhibit a high commitment to member relationships by identifying and responding to the members’ needs with the appropriate application of relationship marketing.

Identify opportunities to promote, up sell, and cross sell the credit union’s credit products including consumer loans, mortgages, lines of credit and credit cards, as well as deposit and investment products.

Act as the primary resource for opening new accounts and effectively match appropriate services to member client needs.

Use self initiative to identify and act upon business development opportunities.

Act as the primary resource for closing accounts and estate administration including claims on share and loan insurance.

Ensure that appropriate documents are processed that are associated with the sale of savings and registered and non registered investment products, transfers or withdrawals.  Ensure forms associated with providing insurance, card products and other sundry services are completed appropriately.

Interview loan and mortgage applicants, analyze financial information, assess credit and approve loans and mortgages within discretionary limits and/or make recommendations for approvals/declines to supervisor.  Ensure that underwriting policies are strictly adhered to and that proper documentation is obtained.

Approve loans and mortgages within discretionary limits and/or make recommendations for approvals/declines to Manager.

Sell and cross sell credit union loan insurance products through the education of members.

Provide individualized financial planning services and information to members on loan services and deposit products offered through the credit union.

Execute the branch marketing program to attain loan, deposit, sundry product and member growth within the objectives set out in the business plan.

Proactively monitor member renewals, maturities, etc. (internal and external) as well as contact at critical stages or other pertinent thresholds (financial, age, etc.).

Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and FAs.

Represent the credit union in the community by participat­ing in local business activities and community functions.

Ensure that reports, as required, are promptly and accurately prepared.

Prepare loan application and ensure instructions outlining conditions of loan are clearly laid out on check list (i.e. loan type, interest rate, securities, searches, liens, administration fees, CAFTS, etc.) for appropriate loan documentation.

Conduct normal follow up on bankruptcies and delinquent accounts and maintain a systematic collection procedure for early identification of problem accounts and promptly initiate or recommend appropriate action to minimize risk.

Interpret the branch operating procedures, lending policies and security requirements and ensure that guidelines are adhered to.

Maintain educational requirements and ensure industry and product knowledge and information is up to date.

Assign duties and provide support to others providing administrative assistance to this role and ensure that their knowledge and information is up to date.

Keep Branch Manager informed of financial services activities and of any related issues.

Administer and provide input into the business referral programs.

Responsible for Opening and Closing of branch including MSR cash verification and lock up, setting of alarms, etc.

Attend and participate in meetings as required.

Act as an ambassador of PenFinancial by looking for opportunities to promote products and services and seek referrals from members and non-members.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
