Job Description

  • Credit Underwriting
  • Understand each unique member and their needs through direct & indirect conversations.
  • Collect and analyze pertinent information relating to finance requests including but not limited to financial statements, appraisals, contracts, budgets, etc.
  • Write commercial credit applications and include logical and data driven recommendations.
  • Ensure that credit applications conform to PenFinancial’s policies & procedures and that any risks are adequately identified and mitigated.
  • Ensure Department underwriting standards are maintained at the highest standard including detailed and timely financial analysis; review of all security pledged including annual site visits and appraisal critiques; industry analysis; and appropriate assessment of management.

Credit Reviews

  • Manage all aspects of the credit review process, including the collection of annual reporting requirements, completing Annual Review applications and tracking expiries & deficiencies.
  • Write commercial annual reviews and include logical and data driven recommendations.
  • Prepare & send any correspondence as may be required as a result of the annual review process.

Business Memberships

  • Assist with onboarding new business relationships by understanding the member and structuring/recommending the appropriate products and services to meet their needs.
  • Collect all required information to complete the applicable forms to open new accounts in accordance with PenFinancial policies and procedures.
  • Support with business development.

General

  • Provide excellent member service at every opportunity.
  • Research and recommend the development of competitive products and services.
  • Monitor the broader business environment and economy within our service area and make recommendations for PenFinancial’s commercial strategy as appropriate.
  • Seek to strengthen business relationships with members, prospects, and key centers of influence through regular site visits, attendance of community events, and other methods of contact.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • University Degree preferably in a business-related program
  • Knowledge of financial accounting is an asset
  • Financial services experience is an asset
  • Displays exceptional interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility and a strong work and service ethic
  • Demonstrates results orientation in both sales and service
  • Uses technology to enhance productivity
  • Committed to continuous personal improvement and continuous learning
