Whether it be black box electronic controllers used in construction and agricultural vehicles or high end instrument displays used in prestige vehicles, we create the electronic products to meet our customers’ needs from the ground up.
Our mission is to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations in the design of bespoke electronic solutions. From capturing customer requirements, designing electronic circuits at schematic and PCB level, the creation of embedded product software and the design of mechanical enclosures to house the electronics, through to design verification, validation test and ultimately high volume manufacture in our Derby technology campus.
About you:
You will be a highly motivated, self-managing and versatile electronics design engineer looking for your next challenge. You will be accustomed to working to project deadlines and you will relish an element of project management in working with customers to understand their requirements and turn their needs into working electronics hardware, which you will support through development and into manufacture in our Derby facility.
Whilst you may have a good appreciation of embedded systems software, your focus will be hardware.
You will have experience in the selection of 8, 16 or 32 bit microcontrollers and the know-how and drive to create the electrical schematics for electronic hardware solutions comprising elements such as microcontroller and memory sub-systems, power supply circuits, analogue and digital circuits, CAN & LIN communications circuits, protected output circuits and maybe even TFT displays, automotive Ethernet or LED lighting circuits for automotive applications. You will be an under-the-bonnet Engineer, capable of producing electronic circuits from scratch using Integrated circuits and discrete components to design electronic solutions at PCB level and you will be in your element working alongside a team of PCB layout, mechanical, software and Production Engineers to produce a design fit for high volume manufacture.
The role:
You will be working within the Electronic Hardware Team which is part a multi-disciplined engineering team, consisting of Mechanical, Electronic and Firmware Engineers (approx. 60 in total)
You will have the opportunity to design electronic hardware using existing CAD tools and processes, working on interesting and diverse projects where you will be involved in every aspect of the product lifecycle from quotation, concept, design and validation through to manufacture. Product developments include electronic design involving schematic capture, design verification - including techniques such as DFMEA analysis and tools such as the Vector toolchain, as well as design validation including the resolution of potential EMC issues and supervising products through environmental testing. The projects you work on will also grow your knowledge of customer specific product standards and you may be involved in the development of safety critical systems to the ISO26262 standards.
The work is rewarding and diverse enabling you to use the full scope of your electronic engineering skills and experience.
Recent projects include:
Design and manufacture of advanced body control systems including passive keys and active suspension systems for high performance vehicles.
