Job Description

1.    To take full control of the Housekeeping department, ensuring that hotel standards are maintained in all areas of the operation.

2.    To control permanent and contract staff in rooms, public areas and back of house in all the Hotels.

3.    To organize, delegate and supervise all staff duties within department.

4.    To control movement of linen and duties of the linen room attendants.

5.    To complete all paperwork and reports in a timeous manner.

6.    To deal with guests requests.

7.    To ensure smooth communication between Front Office and Housekeeping.

 

Qualifications

1.    Matric/ Grade 12.

2.    Must be able to make decisions that are to the benefit of both the hotel and the guest.

3.    Must be able to manage and motivate staff.

4.    Must be a self-starter.

5.    Must have excellent organisational skills.

6.    Must have an eye for detail.

7.    Must be a team player.

8.    Shift work is an operational requirement.

9.    5 years Housekeeping experience required
