Job Description

This role reports to the Resort's Hospitality Manager and is directly responsible for  the planning, directing, coordinating and inspecting all Housekeeping activities and ensuring that all policies and procedures are met as per the standards of the hotel and public areas. 

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Leads the Housekeeping team and manages all staff related matters including, recruitment, performance management and staff development. 
  • Audits and Inspects all Housekeeping activities to ensure the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel and hygiene and safety standards are consistently upheld.
  • Prepares and submits weekly and monthly Housekeeping Reports
  • Ensures wastage is controlled and stock control policies & procedures are followed by all housekeeping staff.
  • Oversees the management of hotel linen through accurate record keeping and investigating and resolving and losses/ damage to hotel linen.  
  • Ensures all Housekeeping Operating Equipment are controlled and managed in alignment with company procedures.

Qualifications

 

  • A Grade 12 Certificate/ Matric is essential and any additional role related qualification will be an advantage.
  • 2 years working as an Executive Housekeeper or similar management role preferably in a medium to large hotel with  3 / 4 star experience.
  • Must have experience in controlling budgets and managing departmental costs of a Housekeeping Department.
  • Must be Computer Literate and experience in Fidelio will be considered an advantage.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong Leadership Abilities and Organisational Skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills with an Eye for Detail.
  • Passion for Developing Others.
