Job Description

To manage surveillance and gaming security department to ensure the protection of Gaming, Company assets, guests and staff, in accordance with the Gambling Board Rules and Regulations, and company policies and procedures.

·  Comply with and implement Corporate Policy and Gaming Legislation especially
    provincial rules and regulations.

·  Ensure that all behaviour/action taken is aimed at maintaining and improving
   relationships and productivity at the unit.

· Ensure that operations are conducted within the ambit of the South African Law and
  Constitution.

· Ensure that operations are conducted within the ambit of the provinces Gaming Rules
  and Regulations

· Continuously Audit and analyse operations to ensure the most cost effective and
  productive operation at all times

·  Attend all meetings such as monthly security meetings, regular compliance meetings,
   works committee meetings, etc.

·  Attend meetings with the outside law enforcement agencies, the Gaming  Board, fire
   departments, and other government departments and advise the General manager of
   the outcome.  Release no sensitive Company information without prior approval.

·  Constantly re-assess company procedures, as this is an ever-evolving document. 
   Prior approval must be obtained for changes to procedures.

·  Ensure effective communication with all management and staff, as far as security,
   surveillance and compliance matters are concerned.

·  Control day to day gaming security functions.

·  Foster and maintain a good working relationship with the Provincial Gambling Board.

·  Ensure proper compliance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.

·  Complete Gaming Security Monthly Report.

·  Monitor daily incident reports completed by Control Room. Ensuring that all major
   gaming and non-gaming incidents are attended to.

·  Monitor comments on Security dockets. Refer to Legal Department where necessary.

·  Control that Dockets, Statements & evidence is recorded accurately, neatly and
    correctly.

·   Implement preventative measures accordingly.

·   Monitor Gaming Security related incidents on Surveillance Incident Report.

·   Assist staff with investigations and making recommendations

·   Monitor Stock audits completed ensuring that variances are actioned.

·    Identify risk areas on daily Security Checklist received from Gaming security officers.

·   Weekly walkabouts through the whole complex – assessing security risk of the complex
    and access posts.

·  Monitor daily incident reports completed by Control Room. Ensuring that all major
   gaming and non-gaming incidents are attended to.

·   Control unit day to day transport issues

·  Responsible for the unit health and safety compliance

 

Qualifications

·    Grade 12 / Management Diploma

·    Minimum 6 Years’ experience within supervisory / management level in a like-minded
     role (gaming industry an advantage)

·    Previous Surveillance/Security/Law enforcement experience

·    PSIRA Grade B

·    Excellent interpersonal and communication

·     Shift work essential

·     Operationally required to work in a smoking environment.

·    Will be required to obtain a Gaming Board License
