Job Description

Perform activities required to manage engineering documentation in a manner that achieves high levels of accuracy and service while supporting overall company objectives.

This is NOT a remote position and will require all work to be done at our office in Aurora, IL.

Qualifications

Education:         

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent work experience

Experience:       

  • Two years of broad-based manufacturing experience

Skills/Abilities:  

  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. sheet metal mfg, punch presses, brakes, welding (robotic, spot, etc.), tube formation, casting, painting and plating, assembly).
  • General understanding of manufacturing machinery.
  • Familiar with manufacturing methods, set up operations, lot sizing, standard times, actual comparisons, and time studies.
  • Effective project and time management skills.
  • Effective communicative and writing skills.
  • PC computer operational skills.
  • Able to read blueprints of sheet metal drawings, tolerances, and gauges.

ESSENTIAL RESULTS:

  • Manage new and revised product changes from design release, through sample run to validation.
  • Originate and maintain product structures, routings by creating standard descriptions, retrieving pertinent data from other departments, and entering data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Determines the most effective means for an organization to use capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people and other assets to make a product or service.
  • Responsible for the cost estimating process for the purpose of tool amortization and purchased part prices used to evaluate and complete ECN requests.
  • Confirms cost estimate through time study of product following manufactured release. Once time studies have been performed and completed, IE is responsible to update IFS (MRP) with actual cost to manufacture product.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to plan layout of work centers and production facilities
  • Evaluate current manufacturing process with all Peerless Industries, Inc. products then suggest and implement refined manufacturing methods to reduce product cost.
  • Coordinate studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial relations.
  • Maintain current organization of processes and documentation; updating and improving as necessary.
  • Works with outside packaging vendor specifying and validating product packaging requirements.
  • Participate actively as a team member in continuous improvement activities.
  • Increase work volume by working efficiently to complete projects promptly and accurately.
  • Perform any other job duties as may be required.
