We are at an exciting milestone of serving the community for 10 years and we’re ready to take it to the next level! As part of making its programs more effective and far reaching to impact as many students as possible, we are relaunching the brand and developing a new marketing strategy.

As a critical element to a successful new strategy implementation, Passion for Life, Inc. is looking for an experienced and creative Web Designer who gets excited about creating an exceptional experience for web users. The Web Designer will review the current website, redesign for optimal user experience, and rebuild for relaunch of our brand. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and managing a team to implement a SEO strategy to drive web traffic and graphic design that represents the Passion for Life, Inc. brand.
 

Web Designers duties and responsibilities:

• Design engaging and responsive website and optimize for maximum speed and scalability
• Employ industry and WordPress design best practices and standards through website rebuild process, including testing and debugging
• Ensure website function and stability across devices i.e. desktop, mobile, tablet
• Work with marketing team to incorporate brand elements and relevant market research findings into website
• Continually refresh content and implement new designs based on need
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Excellent communication skills - you have a way with words & can connect easily with others
• Creativity and willingness to work on own initiative
   

Web Designer requirements

• 3+ years of experience and proficiency in: WordPress, HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and Adobe Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Experience in API web integration, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI)
• Solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
• Effective project management and time management skills are critical
• Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
   

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in: Web Design, Digital Media, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Graphic Design
• Experience with web design for a non-profit organization
   

Estimated time commitment

Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours / week depending needs, including monthly meetings and weekly conference calls

Busiest time period: work is consistent throughout the school year

Term limit: 12 month commitment
