Kelly Services has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Execution System Technician in Edina, MN.
The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is used to manage and control manufacturing operations at our clients Reverse Osmosis manufacturing facility. This system includes business application software and IT hardware. The MES Technician will work under the direction of the Global Improvement Leader at the Edina manufacturing facility, and will work closely with the other IS/IT resources, including other technicians as well as engineers. The person will be responsible for day-to-day MES operations, fixes, troubleshooting both software and hardware, as well as supporting reporting services and other applications needed to operate the facility in Edina.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain MES hardware and software system to maximize production uptime. This includes monitoring system health, ensuring system backups are performed, maintaining data integrity, responding to requests, etc.
• Utilize the site management of change process to document changes and risk mitigation plans while leading and assisting in incremental improvements to site systems. Document technology and troubleshooting via procedures and job aides.
• In conjunction with MES Specialists, maintain conformance with business and Corporate requirements. Follow appropriate management of change for the site maintenance and project activities of MES.
• Work with Manufacturing IS Tech Center team in Edina to identify and implement improvements to the MES applications. This will include participating in design reviews and implementation projects.
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to daily production issues related to MES. Troubleshoot issues using log files, events, etc.
Coordinate with manufacturing to maintain all computers, printers, switches, etc used in manufacturing. This includes deploying patches and updates as needed. Maintain spare inventory to prevent disruptions due to hardware failures. - Maintain Active Directory computers, servers and users.
• Assist as needed in the maintenance of IP21 Process Information system. This includes supporting tag additions, updates, and coordinating scheduled maintenance activities on the IP21 system
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Experience and proficient level of knowledge with software applications such as Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Background in troubleshooting Ethernet network.
• Ability to troubleshoot using log files.
• Sporadic domestic and international travel (<10%) may be required in support of business automation needs.
• On/off shift support will be needed for project startup support.
• Willing and able to participate in the on-call schedule/rotation.
• Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills.
• Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
• Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Qualifying Asylee/Refugee).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, Factory Talk View SE, Java, Visual Studio .NET, HMI programming languages and technologies.
• Background in Six Sigma.
Education:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems) is required
