Job Description
About this job:
Reporting to the Head of Risk Aggregation you will be part of the Risk Aggregation team within the Capital & Risk Management Department. The Risk Aggregation team is a global function that performs the Internal Solvency Capital Model aggregate calculations used across the Group and provides Internal Model-based quantitative risk metrics for both Group and legal entities.
You will be responsible for assisting the Head Risk Aggregation in all aspects of capital modelling and reporting. You should be able to demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, deliver accurate analyses and have a continuous improvement mindset.
About the role:
You will contribute to both the quarterly Internal Model capital production and the ongoing development of the Group’s Aggregation Model. The role combines analytical production, investigation work, and hands-on modelling tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the quarterly delivery of Internal Model solvency capital figures, covering data preparation, model runs, checks, and analysis of change.
- Preparing clear explanations of results and key movements, and communicating them to stakeholders across the Group.
- Taking part in model development activities, including testing and implementing updates to the Aggregation Model.
- Supporting capital projections and multi-year planning exercises, including stress and scenario work.
- Maintaining documentation and ensuring processes and model changes meet governance expectations.
- Identifying practical ways to improve production steps and analytical workflows.
- Handling ad-hoc capital modelling queries and carrying out targeted investigations when required.
Qualifications
About you:
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Solvency II is essential.
- Good understanding of statistical modelling and capital models.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Power Bi.
- Competent in using programming tools like R or Python is desired.
Soft skills:
- Ability to solve problems using sound reasoning and judgement.
- Effective communication skills (both written and oral), capable of presenting complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Detail orientated and strong organizational skills.
- Takes initiative and proposes improvements.
- Fluent in English.
Work Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience within non-life (re)insurance.
- You may also have gained that experience at an actuarial consulting firm.
Professional Qualifications:
- Fellow or Associate of an internationally recognized actuarial society.
- Nearly qualified candidates will also be considered.
