Job Description

About this job:

This role will require strong knowledge and experience of French
products and market practices with extensive experience of Life,
Disability and Income Protection claims assessment.
Europe and Latam markets knowledge would be a plus for any
candidate.

Key elements:

  • The assessment of complex Life, Disability and Income. Protection claims, primarily in France & Europe.
  • Maintain department productivity, quality and turn-around-time standards.
  • Work closely with our insurance company clients and support the Head of Claims EMELA and other team members.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues in many other fields of the business, for example with other claims professionals, our medical advisors, client managers, pricing actuaries, legal teams, etc.
  • Carry out on site and virtual client claims auditing and process reviews (as part of a team).
  • Key claims and process evaluation and input in market tenders and in product development.
  • Input and contribution to claims approach / philosophy and processes.
  • Engagement in projects and process improvement initiatives, as requested by leadership.

Qualifications

About you:

We are seeking a Senior Claims Assessor to join our growing
EMELA (Europe, Middle East, Latin America) Life & Health claims
team. This position is based in Paris (preferably) with some
possible travel (Europe) required.

 

  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in Life insurance/reinsurance claims area French market. Knowledge on medical underwriting would be a plus.
  • At least 3 years’ claims experience in Life insurance/reinsurance on another European market.
  • Strong technical expertise in the areas of Life, Disability and Income Protection claims practices is essential.
  • Professional knowledge of standard Terms and Conditions, practices, exclusion and legal standards in markets.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, ready to deal with expert and experienced claims staff at our client companies, with ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
  • A flexible, proactive team player with a can do approach and the ability to carry through on own initiative.
  • An enquiring mind and keen to continue to learn.
  • Languages: French and English to fluent/expert level, German, Spanish or another european language would be a plus.
