Job Description

With the company’s steady growth and expansion, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics Platform Department. Today is an exciting period of transformation as the company builds out its cloud capabilities and has introduced new platforms such as Snowflake, Data Virtuality. Our full infrastructure has been shifted to Azure.

This role is based out of our Dublin Office. You will be focused on the ongoing development of the Life Administration Platform (LAP) one of our Bordereaux Management tools (Life Policy Records reinsured from our clients) a key component of the companies Life Valuation infrastructure.

LAP is based on Informatica, SQL Server, .Net and Business Objects. At this time, we are also looking into consolidating all our bordereaux management tools and building them as cloud native solutions. As part of your role, you will play an essential role in this project.

In this position, you will report into the Head of Data and Analytics Platforms, and your responsibilities will be to lead the implementation/ mapping of new Cedant Bordereaux into the Life Administration Platform.

We are ideally looking for someone who can take creative ideas, show initiative to bring them forward to help improve our deliveries in a reusable way. Key requirements

  • Developing data pipelines for Cedant Bordereaux into the target systems.
  • Developing and supporting inward and outward interfaces
  • Developing reports and dashboards in SAP Business Objects and/ or SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Platform stabilization (defect management)
  • Hands on attitude
  • Supporting maintenance releases
  • Supporting business during reporting closing periods
  • Understanding of Life Reinsurance business

Qualifications

About you:

  • Must have minimum 10 years of previous experience as a data engineer
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in computer science or comparable
  • Strong knowledge of ETL tools such as Data Virtuality, Informatica and Streamsets
  • Strong knowledge of Relational Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or Snowflake
  • Experience writing Stored Procedures.
  • You must be self-motivated and work independently on multiple tasks
  • You will be able to communicate clearly within a highly collaborative environment
  • You have strong time management and organizational skills, are able to prioritize work and ask for help when needed, as well as able to manage multiple priorities and still meet stakeholder deadlines
  • Basic knowledge with Azure or AWS a plus
  • You have previous experience working on projects and landscapes applying flavors of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
