Job Description
At Parker Wellbore, a Technical Writer authors, edits, and reviews manuals, standards, procedures, and policies. In this role, the Technical Writer works with internal resources and subject matter experts to gather, write, and publish technical information for our varied audiences.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) documents, including manual, standards, policies, procedures, work instructions, and forms/templates.
- Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users.
- Utilize Parker Wellbore writing style across writing assignments to ensure singular Parker voice in IMS documents.
- Gather employee feedback to improve usability and implement into new and existing IMS documentation.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet release dates and internal client deliverables.
- Assist Information and Document Retention (IDR) team to maintain IMS document library.
- Abide by company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities:
- BA/BS in Technical Communication or related discipline, or at least five years of experience in writing complex documentation (manuals, standards, procedures, policies, etc.).
- Do you have 3 years of work experience in Technical Writing?
- Strong interpersonal and exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively within a global, multicultural setting.
- Must be a highly motivated and reliable individual who brings energy, collaboration, teamwork, and a "can do" flexible attitude.
- Must have the ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Must be a detail-oriented, self-starter, and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
- Must have good PC skills, including all MS Office products with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word.
