Job Description

Directs and conducts all activities related to sales bidding and negotiating contracts for a defined business unit or region. Interacts with existing and prospective customers to ensure existing business is retained and new business opportunities are developed. The Business Development Manager will work with senior level representatives from customer companies and acts as a liaison to help assist resolution of contractual, commercial and operational issues which may develop.

Essential functions

  • Include the following though other duties may be assigned:
  • Conducts customer contacts and sales calls.
  • Prepares bids and proposals in response to inquiries from prospective clients. · Negotiates contracts with customers.
  • Develops and negotiates amendments to or extensions of contracts.
  • Works with operations group to assist in contract compliance and operations.
  • Conduct market entry data gathering for projects business cases and economic model.
  • Acts as liaison between company and clients.
  • Ensure that personal behaviors and work practices are in line with Company safety standards.
  • Responsible for safety of self and others in the vicinity including, but not limited to, employees, vendors, and guests.
  • Provide visible leadership engagement, be aware of housekeeping and take additional safety precautions to ensure no one is put at risk.
  • Do not take shortcuts or unnecessary risks and actively work with others to ensure they take due care and do not put themselves or others at risk.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and appropriately investigated in accordance with Company procedure.
  • As needed, seek advice from HSE representative.

Additional functions

  • Identifies and commercializes profitable growth opportunities, develops and expands customer network, and generates and tracks leads and opportunities in SalesForce.
  • Travel as needed for customer meetings, assess markets and develop pricing strategies, model profitability, optimize sales workflows.

Qualifications

Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years min experience in engineering and business/contract development/management in the oilfield or related industry.
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Business or Engineering Preferred
  • Business math and financial criteria.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Must be skilled in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of Access and Sharepoint is preferred.
  • Adaptability to other software is a requirement.
  • Must be able to multi-task while prioritizing to ensure delivery of completed work on schedule.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and embrace a team environment.
  • International experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate with all nationalities in order to develop relationships of trust and understanding. 
  • Superior written and verbal skills and English skills are required.
