Job Description

The Contracts Manager position has primary responsibility and accountability for the commercial management of all Geo-Market client contracts for drilling and well/rental services during entire contract life cycle. This position is responsible for providing support and consultations to the Geo-Market in all its contract-related activities, including proposal preparation, managing and developing of the personnel reporting to this position (if applicable), strictly following applicable Company Integrated Management System (IMS) processes and guidelines and supporting the corporate commercial management (CCM) organization initiatives.Must be proficient in English and Spanish.

Essential functions

  • Jointly with Legal and other functional departments provides inputs to Geo-Market on contractual related issues as described in greater detail below;
  • During proposal preparation evaluates proposed contract drafts and provides comments and recommendations on the exceptions and qualifications to mitigate liability and risk exposure for the Company;
  • As assigned participates in negotiations of contracts, change orders, and selective sub-contracts across the contracts portfolio of the Geo-Market;
  • In consultations with the Corporate CCM organization provides contracting advice to Geo-Market in contract development for new business and ensures contractual terms and conditions mitigate Company’s risk exposure;
  • Manages and actively participates in the post-execution contract management across the contracts’ portfolio of the Geo-Market;
  • Conducts mid-term contract reviews with Geo-Market Ops team and captures lessons learned;
  • Advises the Geo-Market personnel with regard to interpretation and application of Company policies, processes, procedures, and best practices applicable to contracting and contract management;
  • Actively interacts with all Geo-Market and corporate functions to ensure the development of the best contractual solutions for the Geo-Market projects and opportunities;
  • Monitors SalesForce CRM platform and ensures accurate and timely tracking of all Geo-Market contracts and associated contract management activities for existing inventory of Geo-Market contracts, including change orders, extensions, renewals, amendments (collectively "variation documents") and other pertinent activities;
  • Ensures the adherence of Geo-Market to the established process for contract documents storage and maintenance;
  • Assist Geo-Market in development and implementation of an annual contracting strategy for pricing improvement and adjustments.

Qualifications

Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required .Must be proficient in English and Spanish.

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Should have at least 4 years of industry-specific work experience with a working knowledge of administrative disciplines pertaining to contract and commercial management.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of contractual terms for drilling contracts and well services is required
  • Experience in formulation, negotiation, interpretation of contracts is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Experience and working knowledge of Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors. Must be proficient in English and Spanish.
  • Must possess sound reasoning skills and have the ability to follow directions.
