Job Description

Position summary

To effectively set up and run the production and quality for our Machine Shop services in-line with company and customer policies, procedures and systems, ensuring compliance with Statutory Regulations utilizing good industry practices.

Essential functions, Necessary qualifications, skills and abilities

Education / Qualification:

  • Matriculation or Intermediate
  • Any diploma/certification related to Machining is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 Years experience in a Similar Position.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Machining of tools.
  • Basic Knowledge of Engineering drawings.
  • Ability to interpret and amend the machining programs.
  • Sound knowledge in machine operating.
  • English written & spoken skills will be added advantage.

Administrative Skills:

  • Good English: written & spoken.

Strong operational and technical skills in downhole tools and fishing equipment and an understanding of downhole conditions.

Duties, Responsibilities & Key Tasks:

  • Study work orders, sketches, drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances that need to be programed into CNC machines.
  • Program CNC machines according to data derived from sketches and drawings.
  • Plan efficient order cycles for each job fed into the CNC machine.
  • Ascertain that the correct set of tools is chosen for each cycle and stage.
  • Load parts, operate controls, set offsets and handle simple edits to ensure that conformance standards are met.
  • Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on workpieces and materials.
  • Detect equipment/machine malfunction and handle adjustments.
  • Ascertain that parts are fabricated properly so that they meet quality control standards.
  • Set up mills and lathes and load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Maintain end product specifications by ensuring that drilling, grooving and cutting activities are handled according to set standards.
  • Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes and adjust and reprogram controls to meet the varying needs of the fabrication process.
  • Perform preventative and regular maintenance work on CNC machines and related tools.
  • Attending Toolbox talks.
  • Ensure that the route card ID no. and ID no. on the Job card are the same.
  • Dimensions like OD, ID and length need to check on the total Job.
  • On completion of the Job daily production report to be filled on the job to job basis immediately.
  • Inspection report to be filled on the job to job basis.
  • Perform 100% check to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform safety checks on every machine.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment guidelines in the work performed.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the Manager/ Supervisor.
