Job Description

Parker Drilling Company seeks Latin America Tax Specialist to work in Houston, Texas. Provide appropriate tax information to management in preparation of bids and contracts. Implement international tax operational structures.  Maintain current knowledge on U.S. facing international and certain local foreign compliance matters. Participate in completion of foreign audit reports and financial statements. Review and finalize foreign tax returns and return workpapers and various associated schedules to ensure accurate local filings. Review foreign information forms related to the US income tax return. Conduct and provide tax research and planning for both corporate and personnel matters. Prepare tax expense and cash flow budget for assigned country operation on an as-needed basis. Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly tax accruals for assigned countries and other accruals on an as-needed basis, including cash Suspense account review. Review and analyze transactions between countries and between legal entities for tax consequences and prepares documentation for sales contracts, loan documents, appraisals, etc. Plan, design and implement tax saving ideas to improve company profitability. Meet with Latin America tax authorities and local finance teams to discuss and resolve tax audits.

Qualifications

Minimum experience for position: 5 years' experience in performing tax accounting activities with foreign taxing authorities in Latin America and Mexico. Tax accounting/planning in Latin America + experience with GAAP tax accounting rules and regulations (ASC 740).

Special Requirements: Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study

25% travel to Latin America
