Job Description

Position Summary:         

Serves as a primary resource for client intakes across all programs of the organization in addition to facilitating groups and supporting primary counselors when coverage is needed

 Essential Functions:       

  • Perform intake duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor
  • Facilitate gender-specific primary, experiential, and education groups and lectures
  • Support primary counselors by assisting with paperwork and covering caseloads
  • Comply with MN Statute, Chapter 245G requirements regarding timely paperwork and documentation
  • Provide support and intervention in crisis situations
  • Maintain a positive, professional and ethical demeanor with clients and within the community while following a strict code of ethics
  • Participate in various regularly scheduled meetings
  • Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the Clinical Supervisor

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate competence in screening for and working with clients with co-occurring disorders; through education, training and experience
  • Knowledge of MN Statute, Chapter 245G and licensing and its application to the department and company’s policy and procedures
  • Ability to work in alignment with company values, goals, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English; communication skills in other languages preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Medical Record system; or ability to obtain proficiency after training

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or have the ability to obtain an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Temporary permit (ADC-T)
  • Must obtain and maintain required continuing education units and training

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding hire
  • Must pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position working Monday - Friday.
