Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for serving as a primary resource to the clinical team across all programs of the organization which includes, but is not limited to; caseload, lecture, or group coverage.

Essential Functions:       

  • Support co-occurring counselors through assistance with paperwork
  • Facilitate primary, experiential and educational groups and lectures
  • Cover counselor caseloads or perform intakes as directed
  • Comply with MN Statute Chapter 245G requirements regarding timely paperwork and documentation
  • Provide support and intervention in crisis situations
  • Maintain a positive, professional and ethical demeanor with clients and within the community while following a strict code of ethics
  • Participate in multidisciplinary staffing meetings weekly
  • Participate in weekly supervision meetings with the Clinical Supervisor
  • Work alongside peers to offer and receive support when needed

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate competence in screening for and working with clients with co-occurring disorders; through education, training and experience
  • Knowledge of MN Statute Chapter 245G and licensing and its application to the department and company’s policy and procedures
  • Ability to work in alignment with company values, goals, policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with co-workers
  • Ability to establish priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Medical Record system; or ability to obtain proficiency after training

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Must be a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or have the ability to obtain an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Temporary permit (ADC-T)
  • Must obtain and maintain required continuing education units and training

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding hire
  • Must pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services
