Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Mental Health Services Director, the Mental Health Supervisor primarily provides individual and group supervision to students and licensing candidates. Other aspects of this role include providing client services such as individual and group therapy, providing training, and conducting diagnostic assessments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide individual and group supervision to employees pursuing licensure
  2. Provide individual and group supervision to students
  3. Provide individual and group counseling services to clients
  4. Conduct diagnostic psychological assessments as requested; develop accurate and timely reports summarizing findings of diagnostic assessments
  5. Provide training to staff related to co-occurring disorders
  6. Maintain positive and professional relationships with the community as a representative of Park Avenue Center
  7. Maintain professional relationships with clients while following a strict code of ethics

Qualifications

  1. Must have earned at minimum, a Master's Degree in psychology and must be licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in good standing.
  2. Must be two years post-licensure and a board eligible supervisor through MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT).
  3. Competent in assessing and working with clients with mental health problems, through education, training, and experience.
  4. Maintain compliance with the rules adopted under MN Statutes, chapter 148C.
  5. Must possess good verbal skills and present a positive professional image.
  6. At the time of hire, must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to the fact.
  7. Must pass a background check through the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Additional Information

This is a part-time, weekday position, hours per week may be flexible.
