Job Description

 I.         JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Chemical Dependency Technician provides excellent customer service in all functional areas of their work which includes regular interaction with clients, employees, and the surrounding community. 

 

II.        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a resource for clients while working with the onsite medical clinic to      coordinate and schedule client appointments
  • Assist clients from group to clinic services and back
  • Obtain appropriate paperwork from clients and verify insurance during intake
  • Serve as the main point of contact for onsite physicians and clients utilizing the clinic services
  • Accurately chart clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (Procentive)
  • Complete light administrative work such as typing and scanning documents
  • Locate appropriate staff members and/or supervisor to respond to client needs when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have knowledge of client rights, according to section 148F.165, and staff member responsibilities
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Successful completion of a DHS background check
  • At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact
  • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Ability to learn and apply clinical data entry in electronic health record system
  • Possess a working knowledge of issues regarding confidentiality
  • Possess strong verbal and written skills and demonstrate the ability to present a positive professional image
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

This position is part-time, averaging 29 hours or less each week.  Shifts range from 7:00am to noon and noon to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.  The starting wage is $13.25/hour.
