Park Avenue Center provides evidence based gender specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota’s less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists and Registered Nurses. Job Description

he Medication Observer assists clients with getting their medications throughout the course of the day. Important qualities: great client service, detail oriented, solid computer skills, very organized and the ability to work independently. 

Training and certification will be paid for and provided to the selected candidate. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Record and provide detailed description of medications taken by clients in
  2. Maintain professional relationship with clients while following a code of ethics
  3. Escalate matters to the Supervising RN or management staff as needed
  4. Communicate regularly with the Supervising RN
  5. Collaborate on projects with Supervising RN
  6. Cover Medication Observer shifts as requested


Qualifications

  1. At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least the one year immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact.
  2. Must meet the Staff Training requirements in the Park Avenue Center’s Observation of Self-Administration of Medications policy.
  3. Must be able to maintain positive public relations with the community at large.
  4. Must have a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
  5. Must possess good verbal skills and present positive professional image.
  6. Must pass a background check.

Qualifications

  1. Must have a High School Diploma/GED
  2. Must meet the Staff Training requirements in the Park Avenue Center’s Observation of Self-Administration of Medications policy
  3. Must have knowledge of and comply with client rights, outlined in part 4747.1500 and of staff responsibilities
  4. Must have knowledge and comply with client rights and Rule 31
  5. Must possess good verbal skills and present positive professional image

  7. Must pass a background check

Additional Information

This is a part-time position.  Two shifts are available.  Monday through Friday and E/O weekends from 7am-1pm or noon-5:00pm.  The starting wage for this position is $13.00/hour.
