Park Avenue Center provides evidence based gender specific drug and alcohol treatment in south Minneapolis, Minnesota. First established in 1979, Park Avenue Center is a community-based program that proudly serves Minnesota’s less fortunate individuals in beautiful settings. Using evidence-based best practices, we have maintained a reputation for the highest quality of services at extremely low rates. Clients we serve typically struggle with multiple barriers including mental illness, homelessness, financial problems, legal issues, and an overall lack of emotional support. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, our staff includes Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Licensed Psychologists, Registered Nurses, and a consulting Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is qualified to prescribe medications. Job Description

Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Group Facilitator is responsible for leading a variety of psycho-educational and activity group curriculum. The Group Facilitator will also perform other duties that provide support for clinical staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate a variety of groups including, but not limited to, activity and psycho-educational.

2. Maintain consistent communication with Primary Counselors and Clinical Supervisors regarding client progress and/or issues that may arise during groups.

3. Knowledge of curriculum and continue to upgrade skills via educational media.

4. Maintain documentation of client’s participation and progress in Park Avenue Center’s electronic health record system.

5. Meet individually with supervisor and attend group meetings as required.

6. Maintain professional relationship with clients, while following strict code of ethics.

7. Perform other duties as requested. 

Qualifications

1. Must have a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor license under Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 148C, have the ability to receive a temporary permit, or meet Rule 31 licensing requirements for qualified staff by other means. This includes those with a ADC-T, LSW, LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, and LP.

3. Maintain compliance with the rules adopted under MN Statutes, chapter 148C.

4. Must possess good verbal skills and be capable of presenting positive professional image.

5. Experience with electronic health records system strongly preferred. 

6. At the time of hiring, must be free of chemical use problems for at least the two years immediately preceding and sign a statement attesting to that fact.

7. Must pass a background check. 

Additional Information

This is a part-time position. 

Hours available vary between morning, afternoon, evening and weekend. We are targeting employees to work 10 hours/week based upon schedule availability.
