Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Senior Release Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. This is a hands-on technical role focused on build and release management, embedding security and AI-driven automation into our delivery processes. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving release quality by proactively collaborating with teams, minimizing downtime, and enhancing security through continuous improvement and a focus on the details.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage environment builds and implement zero-downtime refresh strategies for IT environments, ensuring stability, compliance, and secure data handling.
  • Coordinate all release activities across IT programs, embedding best practices for quality and security to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Strengthen the release process by embedding security and code quality tools, ensuring compliance from build through deployment.
  • Build and maintain automation scripts using Python, Shell Script, and Java to reduce manual effort and standardize environment maintenance.
  • Proactively collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure stable environments and align on release planning.
  • Provide guidance to Associate Engineers on best practices in release management and automation, fostering a culture of applied learning.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt modern tools, frameworks, and AI-driven practices to enhance release efficiency and security posture.
  • Champion and integrate an 'AI-First' mindset throughout the software development lifecycle, challenging curiously how we build, test, and release software.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Release Engineering, DevOps, and environment management.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Shell Script, JavaScript, or a similar object-oriented language.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Harness), Git-based workflows, and branching strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrating and using security and code quality tools within the release cycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with environment data refresh and masking for enterprise platforms like Salesforce or SAP.
  • Familiarity with ITSM and project management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.
  • Working knowledge of application architecture, including Salesforce, SAP, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on AI fluency, including pair/delegated programming and using AI for productivity and automation.
