Job Description

Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Engineering Manager to join the Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM) organization. Identity is the new perimeter, being the leading attack vector in modern breaches. You will be leading the SaaS Identities Team, a group of talented engineers dedicated to solving the complex problem of securing identities across the fragmented SaaS ecosystem.

In this role, you will lead the development of a cutting-edge engine responsible for Identity Risk Analysis, Posture Management, and Remediation. Your team will build systems that ingest massive amounts of entitlement data, analyze complex permission graphs, and detect over-privileged users or risky behaviors across critical SaaS applications and Cloud environments. You will collaborate with Product Management, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists to define how the world's largest enterprises secure their digital identities.

Your Impact

  • Hands-On Engineering Leadership: Drive a results-oriented culture with a strong focus on execution, quality, and speed. Build a high-performing team by hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers to their full potential.
  • Technical Strategy: Lead the architecture and delivery of complex data pipelines and analytical engines that assess Identity Risk.
  • Innovation: Collaborate with the team to solve difficult problems related to Entitlement Management, effective permissions calculation, and graph-based risk analysis.
  • Product Evolution: Partner with product management to translate complex security requirements (like Least Privilege enforcement) into scalable product features.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead an engineering excellence mindset, ensuring the high availability, scalability, and performance of the SaaS platform.
  • Evangelism: Evangelize the product vision internally and externally. Champion the importance of Identity Security within the broader Cortex Cloud ecosystem.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Management: 5+ years of overall experience, with at least 2+ years as a manager leading high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Distributed Systems: Proven experience building and managing large-scale, data-intensive SaaS applications.
  • Tech Stack: Experience with modern backend technologies. Proficiency in Go / Java, familiarity with Graph Databases (e.g., Neo4j, Neptune, ArangoDB) is a significant advantage.
  • Cloud Native: Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices architecture, and Public Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Advantage - Identity Knowledge: Deep understanding of Identity concepts (Users, Groups, Roles, Permissions), and how they map across different SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft 365, GitHub, Okta).
  • Advantage - Domain Expertise: Experience in Cybersecurity, specifically in domains like IAM (Identity and Access Management), CIEM (Cloud Infrastructure Entitlement Management), or SSPM (SaaS Security Posture Management).
