Your Career
As part of the role, you will be responsible for being a thought leader in designing, coding and stitching scalable datasets to establish certified datasets as an enterprise grade asset. Participate in problem statement discovery and propose state of the art solutions that’s built to last including AI training. This role is a key enabler of building the future of AI and Analytics data foundation to help in Palo Alto Networks growth.
Your Impact
- As a Data Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in our Data & Analytics team, tasked with crafting and implementing integrations using state-of-the-art Cloud technologies
- Ability to translate and assess business problems statements into data requirements and foundation and deliver beyond the stated ask

- Conduct In-depth Analysis - Utilize deep data analysis techniques to uncover actionable insights from data models
- Have basic level of expertise in the areas of data governance, data quality, MDM, information management, metadata management and information exchange
- Embrace Challenges - Tackle complex data engineering and design tasks that push your skills to new heights
- As a team player, work closely with data analysts, product owners, and data scientists to understand requirements and overcome challenges collaboratively
- Embrace Learning - Stay agile and adept at adopting new data engineering technologies and methodologies
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 10+ years of experience within data and analytics domain
- Expert level in writing optimized SQL code
- Advanced proficiency in Python for constructing integrations within GCP DataProc clusters
- Familiarity in B2B space and customer analytics domain and built data models e.g. Contracts & subscriptions, entitlements, contact enrichment, GDPR processes, bookings, pipeline, etc.
- Able to explain the business process and how analytics supported both strategic & operational requirements
- Experience required in building ETL using data from Big Query
- Familiarity with GCP services, preferably having supported deployments on one or more of GCP services
- Experience require building ETL using Apache Spark
- Experience in Managing code using Github (CI/CD)
- Ability to execute and deliver in agile (scrum) development methodology
- Always curious and self-starter in continuous improvements and development/automation/optimization of all things data
- Working knowledge with Tableau (preferred)
- Can-do attitude on solving complex business problems, good interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Must be in SF Bay area

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $124000 - $201500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
