Site Reliability Engineer/Global Enablement Labs Administrator will be responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of the Global Enablement Labs (GEL). Global Enablement Labs provide remote services for world-wide classroom training while supporting internal, partner and customer facing projects for multiple in-house organizations. The Labs are composed of both physical and virtual resources deployed via Lab Automation System.
This individual will be a professional that builds and implements the GEL environment to meet the needs of internal and external training programs, extending current capabilities to support emerging technologies.
This is a worldwide role that requires occasional on-call 24x7 and must be willing to support events that may occur in different time zones. Must be willing to support activities including, but not limited to:
Design, develop, upgrade and deploy labs
Management of labs infrastructure including:
SAN - Fiber Channel (FC), iSCSI and NVMe-oF
Storage - block, and file
Public, private and hybrid cloud - VMware, AWS, Azure and GCP
Design, build, and operate a highly available and resilient lab infrastructure that scales with Palo Alto Networks growth
Provide technical support for lab related problems and issues and ensure the lab environment provides consistently superior user experience
Manage lab requirements and supported capacity at major company events
Responsible for the completeness, quality, and acceptance of the final lab deliverables
Stay abreast on lab tools and standard operating procedures including maintenance windows, routine audits, etc.
Work effectively with all areas of the organization, from engineering to sales, to deliver high-quality products
Build, implement and maintain highly available and self-serving hybrid cloud lab platforms across all regions
Work with management to ensure consistency and uniformity with company vision and direction
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the following:
Deployment and management of LAN and SAN (FC, iSCSI and NVMe-oF)
Operating system administration of Windows, VMware and Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, etc)
Hands on experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform and Python
Management and deployment of private, public and hybrid cloud
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)
Good knowledge of API design, DevOps and CI/CD
Management and deployment knowledge of Kubernetes clusters
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Including the ability to draft and articulate technical and system design requirements.
BS in a technical field
