Job Description

As an Executive Business Strategist (EBS) in the Strategic Capture Practice (SCP) you will play a very important role in building and sustaining executive customer relationships and trust in our most strategic accounts.  Your role is to be a consultative thought leader that closely partners with the customer to craft a transformation strategy that aligns with the customer’s business objectives and Palo Alto Networks offerings.  Your direct experience in owning and operating large IT infrastructure and security environments will be critical to your ability to relate to and assist our customers.  You will create and deliver Points of View that challenge your customers and tie directly to their business objectives.  

As an EBS, you will drive collaboration with customer Director, VP and C-level executives providing insights, perspective, and guidance on long-term business and technology strategy, investments, and innovation. Your role combines business strategy consulting, design-thinking, platform positioning/influencing, enterprise architecture, implementation planning and deal structuring. You will directly team with a Principal Security Architect and Business Value Manager on high-profile engagements and executive presentations. As the Executive Business Strategist your role will be impactful, highly visible, and extremely rewarding.

This is a remote home office-based position. 

Travel: Up to 50% to customer sites as needed. Most travel will be regional and will include some occasional overnight travel. 

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Experience 

  • Track record of success as an CIO/CISO/CTO/CSO or equivalent   security/technology leader who has owned, operated and managed large sophisticated IT infrastructure and security environments

  • Deep knowledge of the Security Industry, its history, trends and future direction

  • Solid comprehension of the financial, technical, functional and operational challenges faced with running IT at large corporations

  • Experience with key business measurements & processes (financial accounting, ROI, TCO, budget planning, organizational design)

  • Industry Vertical Experience: FinSer, Healthcare, Retail, Transportation/Logistics, Technology, Energy/Utility 

  • Strong door opening Storyteller skills with a demonstrable ability to create & position relevant Points of View for customer executives that leads to sponsorship and engagement

  • Deep experience developing and growing C-Level relationships

  • Experience developing and positioning transformational solutions/plans which support business objectives 

  • Ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Consultative positioning and selling experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills

  • Understanding of Palo Alto Networks Security Operating Platform and outcomes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a related field a Master's degree is preferred

  • Minimum of 15 years industry expertise in combination of risk management, information security and IT related positions.  Senior leadership experience is strongly desired.  Employment history must demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility.
