Human - Robot Interaction expert
- Carrer de Pujades, 77, 08005 Barcelona, Spain
PAL Robotics is a robotics company developing service and humanoid robots. We are a young and multidisciplinary team of highly motivated engineers and researchers, focused on inventing the next generation of social robots - robots designed to perform tasks in the real world for and with humans.
At PAL, we work in small, agile teams, where everyone’s voice is heard: more than your raw technical skills, we are interested in your ideas to shape responsible robots for tomorrow.
And we also believe that social robots must be designed for everyone: this is only possible if the people who design and program these robots are themselves of diverse backgrounds. Whatever your gender, age, ethnicity, (dis-)abilities, life experience, your application is welcome, and PAL Robotics is strongly committed to an inclusive hiring process.
You will join PAL’s newly-created Human-Robot Interactions team, where we design and implement pioneering algorithms and interactions to facilitate human-robot interaction.
As a member of the team, you will be the technical lead for one to three projects with customers and/or academic partners. In this role, you will design and program high quality and thoroughly tested interaction capabilities for the robots, ready to be deployed to our customers. You will also actively participate in shaping our R&D priorities in HRI, and take part in the design process of our future social and service robots.
The company is located in Barcelona, Spain. While we favour office-based work (nicer for coffee breaks with colleagues anyway!), remote working up to 3 days/week is possible if you wish so.
Your salary will be evaluated according to the relevant experience of the candidate
We also offer:
26 labour days of holidays per year.
Flexible working hours and shorter working hours on Fridays.
Regular corporate events and team building.
Benefits in kind.
Start date: Early 2022
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Cognitive Science;
Experience in running human-robot interaction studies in the real-world;
Proficient in English (we work 100% in English);
Proficient in Python and/or C++ programming language;
Valid EU work permit.
You will be part of a small team where ideas flow at high speed: a proactive team working attitude is essential.
And since your ideas and vision for social robotics is what we are interested in, excellent communication skills and a creative mind also are a must-have!
